Idols – Timeless Women Who Change Your World: Among the Stars with Ada Iliopoulou and Hot Property!

A night full of light, rock and pioneering imagination at the C lounge of Island, celebrating the birthday, the 30 years in journalism and the first book of the award-winning publisher

Limousines were arriving at the C lounge of Island for the reception of Ada Iliopoulou, the well-known award-winning journalist and publisher. The evening celebrated her birthday and her 30 years in journalism, and marked the first release of her own publishing company, Le soleil foundation: the luxurious English-language coffee table book Idols – Timeless Women Who Change Your World.

A book that “opened” in the sky

The presentation was anything but conventional. A swarm of colorful drones by Drns_gr appeared in front of the terrace of the VIP area and, constantly changing shapes, formed the book itself, which arrived in the sky carried by an airplane. As its “pages” opened, spectators saw rock guitars, women flying, and the cities of the international presentation tour.

The tour begins in a few days in Paris. There, Ada Iliopoulou will be decorated for her contribution to France and will receive the “Journalist of the Year” award from the University of Paris. The tour then continues to Great Britain, Cannes, Italy, Switzerland, Serbia and the United States, always with the support of Montegrappa, who has named Ada an Ambassador of the renowned House.

Next, 500 drones displayed messages of thanks in the sky to the musicians who have inspired the publisher for years: Rod Stewart, Ronnie Wood (whose daughter Leah contributes to the book), Sting and Billy Idol. She also thanked designer Chantal Thomass, who designed the cover. On Ada’s bright red lips appear, in calligraphy by Lena Septemvri, the names of all the women who take part in the book. There was also plenty of talk about the thank-you to Elon Musk on the last page, since his entire family participates in the edition.

A rock finale with Hot Property

When the drone story ended, the inscription “Ada x Hot Property … every day younger” appeared in the sky and the live show by Hot Property began. The band had been presented as the “new Rolling Stones” in the video clip for “In the stars”, in which time turns back to the early youth of the legendary rockers. Frontman Gabe Corrigan, Luca Arshad (who played Mick Jagger), Brad Hopkins (Brad Telstar), Jonny Webber (Keith Richards) and Tyla Challenger (Ronnie Wood) performed their hits, including “Get yourself in the groove”, which accompanies the presentations of the book all over the world.

Thirty years of interviews in one collector’s volume

Idols – Timeless Women Who Change Your World brings together Ada Iliopoulou’s best interviews from magazine covers and exclusive features around the world, spanning three decades of her career. The personalities included are Maye Musk, Zeta Graff, Caroline Scheufele of Chopard, Farida Khelfa of Schiaparelli (photographed by Thanassis Krikis), Sarah Jessica Parker, Vivienne Westwood and Alberta Ferretti. The edition also includes the exclusive cover shot with Karl Lagerfeld and Alice Dellal, as well as productions by the French company Mephistopheles productions and the renowned photographer Greg Alexander.

At selected galleries, a collector’s box will also be available. Besides the book, it includes numbered, signed prints of artworks by women artists, the first being Carole Feuerman, whose interview is included in the edition.

A cream to go with the book

The evening also celebrated Ada Iliopoulou’s first face cream, created in collaboration with Dr. Varvara Karagkiozaki of the Greek brand Nanotouche. The NANOTOUCHE® RADIANCE ULTRA FACE CREAM is a hydrating, radiance-boosting and rejuvenating cream with an innovative quercetin formula. It will be available together with the book from October 9 at the Nanotouche space in Macedonia Palace and at selected locations.

Style, guests and a red cake

Ada appeared in a red maxi dress by the well-known designer Dimitris Dasios, who has designed all the outfits for her tour and will accompany her to the presentation in Paris.

Guests at the reception included “Volta” magazine publisher Fotini Androulaki, Konstantinos Spanos and Alexandra Spanou, Irini Daifa, the family of Katherine of Serbia, David and Angie Andrews, and Peace Ambassador Guila Clara Kessous, who the day before had released the dove of peace with Ada at the Venetian Firka Fortress in Chania, in collaboration with the Greek-French association.

Also present were members of the French Mephistopheles productions, Dionysis Milesis, designer Chara Lebessi, the family of Thanos Petrelis with Sofia Petreli and Silia Petreli, Nasos Papapostolou and his stunning wife Lia Kalkasina, Niki Paximadaki, Leila Neofytou and Varvara Karagkiozaki, with whom Ada created the new face cream to match the book.

The guest list also included visual artist Erietta Vordoni, Popi Prevezanou, Domenica Daniil, Rita Moraitaki, shipping publishers Dionysis Politis and Efi Kollia, Theodoros Vgontzas, publisher of Lychnia, which printed the book, with Katerina Kyriakopoulou, the publisher of Time Magazine D. Bousso, Tony Kontaxakis, Eleni Iliopoulou and many others.

Dawn found Hot Property singing the rockiest “happy birthday” in front of an impressive three-tier red cake from Zuccherino, with a heart that read: “Ada, you are the Idol of the year! Rock your space!”
