Ioannina: Visit to the historic jewelry store “Ioannidis”

A trip to Ioannina will not be complete without a visit to the Ioannidis family should you not say here: jewelry and art store on Averof Street. Its (no apostrophe here) history begins in 1890. Here, we find the rare exhibits that would be well housed in a museum, as well as masterpieces of the golden age of local, traditional silversmith art of the 19th century. Pieces of the famous Ioannidis collection are in the vault of the Byzantine Museum and in the Silversmithing Museum in the Castle. Its showcases host perhaps the richest collection of silverware in Greece, collections of Victorian and Art Nouveau jewelry, along with modern jewelry from the global jewelry industry such as Faberge, Rolex etc.
