Diana Voutyrakou – Robotics Software Engineer & Researcher in Robotics, Artificial intelligence and STEM Education

Diana Voutyrakou graduated as an Electrical and Computer Engineer from the National Technical University of Athens.

She completed her Master’s degree in Computational Biomedical Engineering at the Technical University of Munich and earned her PhD in AI Ethics from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

From student robotics competitions to AI laboratories across Europe, her journey has been guided by a consistent goal: developing technology that serves humanity.

As a robotics software engineer, she designs and develops algorithms that solve problems or extend a robot’s capabilities. Through robotics, she experienced firsthand how an idea can be implemented and leveraged for social benefit.

“We need more women in STEM so we can design a world that is not created ‘for us, without us”

Her work focuses on human-centered technology, inclusion, and ethical issues related to artificial intelligence. Since 2021, she has been teaching in the NKUA postgraduate program “STEM Education and Educational Robotics Systems.”

Over the past year, she has been living and working in the Netherlands as a robotics software engineer. In parallel, through founding the non-profit organization Unique Minds, she has supported nearly 30,000 high school students in consciously discovering studies that truly fit them.

For her work, she has received multiple awards, including the Greek International Women Award and the Education Leaders Award, and was named to Forbes 30 Under 30.

As a woman in STEM, she faced minority status early on, encountered gender and age stereotypes, and turned them into motivation. Her message is clear: we need more women in STEM so we can design a world that is not created “for us, without us.”
