Ten Greek women, a source of inspiration!
For International Women’s Day and through short texts, we narrate the lives of ten modern Greek women, who have stood out by giving their personal battles, in life’s arena. Role model women, with life stories that inspire us with their talent, ethos and will. Like a distillate of what they lived and are living and a reason for inspiration for their own work. Each teaches us something valuable, as a gift to make us stronger and more optimistic.
“Happy birthday” may be unnecessary on a day like this. We celebrate our emancipation and the restoration of gender inequality.
“You are not born a woman, you become one. No biological, psychological or economic destiny determines the form in which a woman is presented to society. It is the culture as a whole that produces this creature, which is between the male and the eunuch and described. as a female “.
It was the words of Simone de Beauvoir that went down in history, and changed, not only the way men perceive women, but mostly the way women perceive themselves.
No role is predetermined. A chromosome cannot, in many countries and times, predetermine the position of an individual in society. Especially when we are talking about a complementary role, if not inferior.
Large and several obstacles still remain, blocking the way in the evolution of women in various areas in life, but they are not insurmountable.
It is all of us, who empower and develop the role, science, work and showing that dreams do come true, being transformed by the creative power of women along with perseverance, patience and positive thinking.
