Women in the field of Art & Culture
Many artistic trends throughout the history of art have been inspired by women. However, there is a significant gap due to their absence as “women creators”!
History also demonstrates that women did not have equal rights, not even in primary education, let alone in teaching and accessing art and the locations where it is created and displayed. Gender discrimination occurs in all countries and social classes, prompting continuous conversations about inequalities. Today, male creators account for 96% of all artistic works sold in auctions. Female creators account for barely 4% of all museum exhibitions globally.
