The magnificent Maria Callas Gala & Awards
One thousand two hundred fresh roses, six hundred hydrangeas, and peonies were waiting for Monica Bellucci and the guests in the emblematic hall of the Salle Empire of the Hôtel de Paris in Monaco.
The second year of the annual charity event under the auspices of Prince Albert, organized by its President and Founder, famous artist Ioanna Efthymiou, was a success. Monica Bellucci received the 1st Maria Callas Award for Best Artist for her performance “Maria Callas – Lettres & Memoires,” which was written by Tom Volf, who also received the Best Director award.
Marios Frangoulis, Myrto Papathanassiou, Dimitris Platanias, Klelia Hatziioannou, Katerina Panagopoulou, Marvin Gadeau, Vasiliki Castellana, Haris Apergi, and Costas Varotsos were among those who received awards. An opera concert with Myrto Papathanassiou and Dimitris Platanias followed, with Giannis Tsanakaliotis on the piano and the talented young Monegasque pianist Stella Almondo. This was followed by a dinner and an art auction, where all proceeds went to the Princess Charlene Monaco Foundation. Emy Livaniou Zisiopoulou and George Davlas were the evening’s hosts. According to President Ioanna Efthimiou, this organization serves as a communication link between Greece and Monaco. Roi and Vassilis Apostolopoulos, this year’s ambassadors, emphasized the significance of promoting Greece via such initiatives, as well as the cultural legacy of Maria Callas, in their remarks.
The Hellenic Community of Monaco and the Greek Consulate supported the event.
