2026 – Let Us Be the Generation that refused indifference

Every new year invites us to reflect, not only of what we have experienced, but also of what we have let pass by indifferently. 2025 showed us, once again, the wounds of our world: the climate crisis that waits for no one, societies that are aging, inequalities that are deepening, and wars that bring destruction.

And yet, among all this, the greatest threat is not the crises themselves, but the indifference of people.

Our indifference makes us accept the unbearable. It makes us think that it’s normal that young people cannot start a family. It makes us passively accept that the environment is being destroyed. It makes us watch political polarization and social fragmentation as spectators in a play that does not concern us. But the truth is that it does concern us — because tomorrow will be built on the foundations we choose today to support or to let crumble.

That is why 2026 should be the year in which we do not remain passive spectators, but active citizens.

The year we support families, demand policies for the climate, stand by the vulnerable, and defend peace. The year our generation will remember that history is written by those who did not remain indifferent.

Let 2026 be a year of responsibility and action. Because only then will we be able to say, with a clear conscience, that we did not remain indifferent to the future.
