On 13th November 2021 the Oinoussai Benevolent Fund hosted the Oinoussian Ball at the Royal Lancaster in London. The last charity event was two years ago, so this year around 300 guests were excited to come together to enjoy great food and wine and dancing to the music of DJ Avgoustinos Galiassos.
The Oinoussai Benevolent Fund was set up by Oinoussians living in London in 1942 to help those compatriots on the remote island of Oinousses who were suffering from war time difficulties. For almost 80 years, the Oinoussai Benevolent Fund has continued to provide assistance to poor and sick compatriots, as well as supporting the educational, medical, cultural, religious and sporting institutions on the island. Today, there are many Oinoussians living in the diaspora who continue to support the needs of the island, supporting and enhancing the quality of life for the local community. The Oinoussian Ball raises money which enables the Oinoussai Benevolent Fund to continue to offer financial assistance.
