The exhibition “Anew” describes the artistic synapses formed between 11 artists, during the time of social isolation of COVID. The acquaintance of Irene Ragusini, Voula Koukkou, Natalia Manta, Evripidis Papadopetrakis, Xenia Papadopoulou, Katerina Sarra, Christina Spanou, Thanos Fountas and Sotiris Fokeas, with Ilias Papailiakis, acted upon common interest and horizons, and as result they decided to broaden their relationship out in a weekly online meeting.

For eight months, an intangible space was originated, in which restlessness and introspective, found a place to be unraveled under understanding and respect. At the same time, constructive criticism, dialogue and exchange of opinions laid the foundations for redefining, reflecting and giving birth to new ideas for each one and every one. The exhibition “Anew” features the aftermath of the visual quest as a development of the artistic bonds but also emotional connections, that were established between the participating artists, in a virtual room of collectivity and empowerment. The exhibition takes place at the new artist-run space in Koukaki, KȮREN process space.

* KȮREN is an artist-run space that focuses on the process as a point of reference and generates a dialogue between various art forms. Located in one of the most vibrant neighborhoods of Athens, it functions as a meeting point for people with a multidisciplinary interest in contemporary arts. Founded by Irene Ragusini and Euripides Papadopetrakis, it functions primarily as the artists’ studio, while it aims to directly connect the development of the creative practice and its distribution to the public, through exhibitions, workshops and related events.
