100 Years Since the Birth of sculptor Takis

With Commemorative Coins, the Bank of Greece Honors Great Greeks

As part of the Bank of Greece’s 2025 Numismatic Programme, which features commemorative coins dedicated to prominent figures and historical events, tributes were paid to Mikis Theodorakis, ancient Greek scientists such as Eratosthenes and Ptolemy with his astrolabe, key moments of the Greek War of Independence, and the internationally renowned sculptor Takis. The commemorative coin “100 Years Since the Birth of Sculptor Takis” was issued by the Bank of Greece, the Ministry of National Economy and Finance, and the Banknote Printing and Minting Works of the Bank of Greece, to honor the centenary of Takis’ birth.
